It’s been a busy few weeks in Glasgow. The Commonwealth Games were a great success and the culture programme that ran alongside featured lots of Scottish traditional music. The latest Foot Stompin’ Podcast features music from Breabach’s James Duncan MacKenzie’s debute solo album. We then (Don’t Say) Money Doesn’t Matter from Barbara Dickson and Rab Noakes followed by the new release from Skipinnish Western Ocean. Next up is Manran’s Gary Innes with an older track from his album Shouts. Then it’s another new release from Kaela Rown called Menagerie and we finish up the podcast with a classic from the Old Blind Dogs - Bennachie.

Spring seems to have finally visited Scotland and we have some great music to celebrate! We start off the podcast with Transatlantic Sessions 2 by Aly Bain and Jerry Douglas. Next up is singer Emily Smith's new CD Echoes followed by Who He? by Ian Carr and the Various Artists. Then it’s Angels Without Wings from Heidi Talbot and then the virtuoso clarsach player Catriona McKay from her new CD Harponium. The Foot Stompin’ Free Scottish Music Podcast is back! I had all these plans then life got in the way! Anyway we’re back with a great selection of Scottish music. We start off with a set of jigs from Adam Sutherland and head into a track of Julie Fowlis’s new album. Then it’s another new release from Patsy Reid followed by a song from Adam Holmes. Then there is a beautiful air from Sarah-Jane Summers and we finish the podcast with Gavin Marwick’s new CD The Long Toad and the Far Horizons.
