We’re celebrating the 2013 MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards in this podcast. If you would like to vote (until November 22nd 2013 go to www.scotstradmusicawards.com). First up is Beer from Ross Ainslie’s Wide Open CD (nominated in Album in the Year). Then it is Fiona Hunter (nominated in Scots Singer of the Year) from her March 2014 released new CD and then Ailie Robertson’s Traditional Spirits album (Ailie is nominated in Instrumentalist of the Year). We are looking back to the winners of the 2012 MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards in this podcast in anticipation of voting opening in the 2013 MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards on the 4th November.

We start of the podcast with Breabach - winners of Folk Band of the Year and follow them with Album of the Year winner Kathleen MacInnes. Next is Dance Band of the Year Deoch 'N' Dorus followed by Citty Finlayson Scots Singer of the Year - Paul McKenna Band. The PRS Composer of the Year was Mike Vass and we finish the podcast with the 2012 Instrumentalist of the Year Duncan Chisholm.

We're in the middle of Glasgow's fabulous Celtic Connections festival with so much great music going on. This podcast features a sample of what Scotland has to offer with our brilliant music! We start of with a classic track from Deaf Shepherd who are 20 years old this year. We then celebrate Robert Burns with Ye Banks and Braes from the classic Rod Paterson and follow it with Burns' Gala Water sang by Dumfriesshire songstress Emily Smith.
