Hi there,

We've got a great selection of Scottish music for you in this podcast. We start of with the classic Relativity of the 80s and another older release of Barbara Dickson and Gerry Rafferty singing a Bob Dylan song together. There's a set of tunes from BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Winner Ewan Robertson with Gary Innes and their album Shouts. The current BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award Semi-Finals will be on Saturday 5th October 2013 in Coulter Hall, South Lanarkshire at 7.30pm. We're featuring the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame Dinner on 11th October, Oran Mor, Glasgow in this podcast. If you would like to come you can get a ticket at www.tradmusichall.com.

The music featured in the podcast comes from Willie Hunter (inducted 2013) tutored Fiddlers' Bid and their magnificent All Dressed in Yellow CD. Next up is Kenna Campbell (inducted 2005) tutored Catriona Watt and we follow this with Ross Ainslie's new CD Wide Open. Ross was mentored by Gordon Duncan (inducted 2010). We then play an unreleased track from Salt House and then a song from one of my mentors Nick Brennan. We finish up the podcast with Insomnia from global bagpipe stars Red Hot Chilli Pipers.

Then it's a brand new release from James Duncan MacKenzie and then the iTunes chart topping hit The Shinty Referee by Fergie MacDonald. We finish off this podcast with BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award Winner Daniel Thorpe's The Curiosity Shop.

We're in the middle of Glasgow's fabulous Celtic Connections festival with so much great music going on. This podcast features a sample of what Scotland has to offer with our brilliant music! We start of with a classic track from Deaf Shepherd who are 20 years old this year. We then celebrate Robert Burns with Ye Banks and Braes from the classic Rod Paterson and follow it with Burns' Gala Water sang by Dumfriesshire songstress Emily Smith. We then slow things down with an air from Shetland's Fiddlers' Bid and speed things up again with Lorne MacDougall's Hello World.
